It might be winter, but spring will be here before you know it. Which means it’ll be time again to head to the sandy shores of Daytona Beach for the 71st annual Bike Week motorcycle rally. Why do I mention this in December? Because I just got an email promoting the official 2012 Bike Week Motorcycle, a $35,000 Zeus softail-style bobber built by Springers Custom Cycles that one lucky raffle winner is going to ride away with.
According to the official Bike Week site, “This bike features a distinctive 100” Crazy Horse V-Plus engine. It also has a Rivera Primo Pro-Clutch, enclosed primary belt drive, and polished six-speed transmission for smooth power transfer and shifts. And since Springers Custom Cycles is a licensed manufacturer, the winner will get a title with the bike; no MSOs or complicated paperwork.” Its spec sheet lists the following:
Crazy Horse V-Plus 100” Engine
Polished Rivera Primo Six-Speed Transmission
Delkron Inner Primary Cover
Rivera Primo Pro-Clutch
Rivera Primo 1-1/2” Primary Belt Drive
Polished S&S Outer Primary Cover
Progressive Suspension rear shocks
Ride Wright Wheels
Metzeler Tires
Chrome Performance Machine Brake Calipers
Paughco Springer Front End

Here’s the deal. Raffle tickets are $50 each. Only 4500 tickets will be printed, so you know the odds. Organizers will conduct the drawing no matter how many tickets sell. Last year they only sold 3712 tickets out of 4500, so the odds were even better. The drawing will be held March 17 at Riverfront Park and you need not be present to win. American Iron magazine is promoting the build and intends on doing a feature story on it, from frame to finish. It’s the 18th year the drawing will be held, so you know it’s legit. The Daytona Beach Community Foundation conducts the raffle and proceeds from the event go towards the management and improvement of Bike Week. March might seem like a long ways away, but it will be here before you know it. If you like what you see, go to the Official Bike Week Headquarters to purchase your ticket for a chance to win this one-off custom cruiser.
